Finally finished something!

I have trouble completing things.Once I start crafting I usually get inspired to try something else so I will, without regard for the work in progress, jump right in on the new idea.  Yes I know this is bad.  I also think in funny voices so I have bigger issues than my attention span.  Today though I finished something and it only took 2 days, consecutive ones at that!  I did stop washing the dishes when inspiration struck but lets just focus on the positive here.

Eventually we plan on repainting Allye's room.  By "we" I mean Allye thinks it would be great if I took care of this asap.  Mr. Husband does NOT paint.  So we scavenged one of those tin stars that you see all over and Allye fell in love.  It was her very own "Texas" star!  She loves having family in Texas and that is her number 2 choice in places to live.  Anyway, back to the star,  I suggested we jazz it up a bit to go with our plans for her room.  Her ideas are zebra, pink, peace signs and zebra.  So this is what we've got...

We started with this FREE plain star...i had to paint it black

about 3 dollars later we've got a personalized jazzy piece of wall art
yeah,  let's ignore the background clutter

A follower!

So I have my first blog follower!  It's Dawn and she is awesome.  Many of my thoughts involve her or her family.  I often think everyone should be able to know her and then I realize that if everyone I know tried to spend time with her there'd be none left for me.  So since everyone can't know her...Allow me to introduce you.....

My friend Dawn is funny, smart, courageous, faithful, dedicated, committed, honest, hard-working, selfless, thoughtful, and most importantly filled with a love of the Lord.   When I need advice guess who I call?  (Jenny too but I'll introduce her later.)  Once, Allye had to write an essay on her hero, Ms. Dawn was it.  My boys have complete adoration of her son, Jacob, but really if Jake wasn't there they'd move in with Dawn because she plays all the lego WII games too!  She LOVES my children and their salvation is as important to her as that her own children.  She has endured loss and heartache and never ever considered walking away from the God who holds all power.  She strives to be more Godly daily and that is reflected in her spirit, her marriage, her children and her service.  I love her, Steve, and all of their children, my family has been richly blessed by having her in my life.  If you are fortunate enough to know her try and not take up too much of her time cause I will be needing it.......

As you can see she is lots of fun and my boys adore her!!

Just Thursday

So it's Thursday and not much exciting has happened around here.  I managed to break an electric sander, ground one child and show up late picking another up from practice.  I do not however, think the sander situation is my fault.  I blame faulty wiring.  Eventually I WILL finish my stairway!!!

Allye is participating on a Cross Country team with a local christian school.  She is beyond excited!  I however have trouble understanding the thrill.  I really want to love running because the size of my soul is not being justly reflected by the size of my body.  The problem with running is that  I get an uncomfortable ache in my side, I can't breathe, and  I get all sweaty.  I try and only run when being chased.  Once Allye and I were taking regular walks and she encouraged me to run with her, so I gave it a go.  Before we could run I had to lay out the rules,
1.  There would be no laughing at the slow pace I run (kind of a bent knee walk)
2.  We had to be far enough away from our street so the neighbors can't laugh at me.
3.  No mocking me for stopping every 50feet.

Anyway for some reason she gave up on me....So it may be clear by now that all things running are not my forte.  I do not know how track meets work or cross country meets.  I asked Mr. Husband "So how do you watch a XC meet?"  He says there are places and we can choose various ones along the way from which to observe.  I said, "So won't they beat us to every station since they will be running and I assure you I will not?"  Yep, you guessed he laughed and I still don't know how to watch a XC meet.

What about this blog...

I was thinking how cool that I created a blog today and then thought what on earth am I going to write about? I plan on writing about just about everything.  What I think, do, say and craft, my kids, my husband, my friends, my church are all possible subjects.  Today, for example, I was wondering how is it possible for feet in flip flops to smell bad.  It just doesn't seem like a reasonable thing to me and yet it's still somehow possible.  Go figure......

Wow! I've a blog.....

Wow! So here I am with a blog.  Who knows where this could go.  I have so many things I think everyday and now I can subject to world to those thoughts.  This could be fun!  I suppose I will use this as a place to share my life all the disorganized mess of it!
